NEW YORK (October 5, 2017) – Today, Big, Bold, Beautiful World Media (BBB World Media), a multimedia company that harnesses the power of innovation and creativity to produce stories, experiences and products that empower the social and emotional development of global generations, introduced its first children’s media property, Gokul! World (www.gokulworld.com). Gokul! World is a multimedia property that prepares children ages 4-7 for success by fostering exploration, understanding and celebration of cultural diversity. The property launches today as an illustrated story book and will expand to include digital shorts, an animated series, interactive mobile games, additional books and merchandise.
Filling a Void in Children’s Media
Gokul! World conducted research in the United States, United Kingdom and India to understand parents’ perspectives on cultural diversity and children’s entertainment. According to this global research, an overwhelming majority of parents –76% percent in the U.S. alone– believe there is a need for this type of entertainment, where stories represent the world in which we all live.
“Very few properties are tackling the full spectrum of diversity with characters that are relatable children versus animals,” said Jeni Chapman, co-founder and CEO of BBB World Media. “Our mission is for every child to see themselves in our stories. We’ve built Gokul! World from the ground up to be a global children’s media property based on diversity, we are not bolting this on to an existing endeavor.”
BBB World Media founders Bal G. Das and Jeni Chapman assembled a team of experts from every vertical – publishing, digital games, TV and consumer products– to build a children’s brand that would resonate globally and thrive in today’s content-focused environment through a time-to-market advantage. “Launching Gokul! World with a book allows us to literally put this story in children’s hands at a time of year when these messages have added impact,“ added Chapman.
“We are a category definer,” said Bal G. Das, co-founder and Executive Chairman of BBB World Media. “We are dedicated to moving diversity forward in approachable ways, through identifiable characters sharing real cultures and traditions in the context of entertaining adventures.”
Gokul Village and The Magic Fountain
Gokul Village and The Magic Fountain is the beautifully illustrated first book in the Gokul! World adventures series of books for children ages 4-7. In every story, with the help of Friendship Fountain, six friends travel the world, explore and celebrate the festivals of different cultures and traditions, forge friendships for life, and save the day.
The joy of teamwork, friendship and curiosity about the world are at the heart of every Gokul! World story.
“Gokul Village and The Magic Fountain,” is co-authored by company founders Bal G. Das and Jeni Chapman and illustrated by celebrated children’s book illustrator Charlene Chua. “Gokul Village and the Magic Fountain” is available at Amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com beginning October 5 for $16.99.

World Advisory Team include Scott Webb who helped establish Nickelodeon as the most successful network in cable TV history, Dr. Natascha Shaikh-Crandall, research expert for leading children’s shows and the Honorable Frank Wisner, career diplomat and former U.S. Ambassador to India and Egypt, among other countries.
